  • The Boulevard of Heroes Banners Program is the City of Edinburg’s continued efforts to honor and recognize Edinburg’s brave men and women who have served our country. Selected veterans will have their photo and accompanying information gathered to be incorporated into a commemorative banner that will then be installed on a city light post along West University Drive, Hidalgo County Courthouse, and Closner Boulevard, also known as “The Boulevard of Heroes”.

    • Born in City of Edinburg or Current City of Edinburg Resident

    • Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty
      [DD Form 214]

    • Veteran’s Full Legal Name

    • Branch(es) of Service

    • Military Rank (if applicable)

    • Start Date and End Date of Service

    • Acknowledged War(s)/Operation(s) Involved in
      (training excersises not applicable)

    • Medals, Awards, or Commendations recieved (if applicable)

    • Photo of Veteran in Uniform
      (no weaponry, obscured faces, sunglasses, or combat/field uniforms- must be in Service Dress uniform)
