Edinburg, Texas–The Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library will celebrate its 7th annual Love & Chocolate event on February 8, at 6 p.m. The yearly event held in the library’s meeting room celebrates the works of local poets, artists, dancers and local performers.
This year, Love & Chocolate will feature the art of Clarissa Zarate and the poetic works of Manny Carrizales, Anaia Irish Funtanilla, Edward Vidaurre, Julieta Corpus, John Isbell, Jasmin Garcia, and Anthony Ripp. Arte Dance Studio will also be on hand for a special performance.
The Love & Chocolate event is for adults while children and teens can participate in scheduled programs while their parents enjoy an adult evening together. Groups of friends are encouraged to attend and enjoy the poetry, the art, and the variety of chocolates available while they last.
To promote the love of reading, this year’s event will also include “Blind Date with a Book,” a concept that consists of selecting a book based solely on the description of a wrapped book. Guests can peruse the selected books and enjoy. The goal is to expose patrons to unfamiliar books and authors.
The 7th annual Love & Chocolate event is free and open to the public.
