Edinburg, TX - Edinburg Arts, a division of the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library is currently in search of outgoing and dedicated volunteers who would like to assist in the upcoming Fiesta de Mayo three day weekend celebration. The Fiesta de Mayo festival will take place May 13th from 12 noon to 10 p.m., May 14th from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. and May 15th from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Fiesta de Mayo is a fun, family-oriented festival that strives to celebrate the Valley’s rich Mexican cultural heritage. Edinburg’s traditionally Cinco de Mayo celebration has been labeled as the most authentic as it features Mariachi and Folklorico exhibitions, over 60 Mexican artisans, live music, dance and many more exciting events. Serving as an Edinburg Arts Volunteer enables the development of trained leadership skills, broadening knowledge of event management as well as provides cultural awareness and appreciation.
Throughout the year, Edinburg Arts provides multiple volunteer opportunities through our various festivals such as Culturefest, Fridafest, the Out of This World UFO Festival, the South Texas International Film Festival and Los Muertos Bailan: a pre-Dia de Los Muertos Celebration.
